The Global Urban Trek is a summer immersion program that focuses on the intersection of faith, justice, urban and global poverty, vocation, and stewardship. We partner with local churches and non-government organizations (NGOs) to serve as our teachers, guides, and mentors for our staff and students. Our posture is to live, listen, and learn what God is already doing in these communities. As students experience daily life and the needs of this community, they may begin to sense God's call to longer-term service among the urban poor.
Thailand Trek has partnered with various organizations focusing on public health, social work, and education, working with the elderly and children. Thailand has been a rich program that has informed generations of students in how they think about justice and community. We will be taking a team of 6 - 8 students on staff on one of our two sites: Working and living with the elderly with a focus on a social work program or working with refugees on an education site.

COST
$5,500 (includes flight to and from the country, housing, and food) & flight to and from Houston, Texas. In lieu of a fixed cost - the Trek asks students to set a fundraising goal based on historical cost and each students’ background and will fundraise in a communal model.
